What does Ethicus mean?

Ethicus stands for ‘Ethics’ & ‘Us’. Its philosophy is built on Ethical & Sustainable Fashion. It is India’s first Farm to Fashion Sustainable Fashion Brand & was launched in September 2009.

Why is Ethicus called a ‘Farm to Fashion Brand’?

Appachi Ecologic Cotton Pvt. Ltd., the company which owns brand Ethicus, grows its own cotton & value adds it. These products are then sold under its in-house brand Ethicus.

What is Ecologic Cotton?

‘Ecologic Cotton’ is branded cotton from Appachi Ecologic Cotton Pvt. Ltd. It is grown using Sustainable & Organic farming principles thereby bringing a positive impact on the Environment.

Are all ‘Ethicus’ products handcrafted?

Yes. All Ethicus products are currently made on Traditional Handlooms. They are further enhanced by hand block printing, hand screen printing, hand painting or hand embroidery using traditional Indian crafts & skills.

What kinds of dyes are used in Ethicus products?

We use Azo free dyes which are low impact chemical dyes as prescribed by the Global Organic Textile Standards.

We also use Natural dyes from Mineral & Plant sources for some of our products.

What are the wash care instructions to be followed?

As the yarns used are fine & delicate, it is recommended that these products be hand washed separately with a mild detergent in cold water & dried in the shade.

For products which have Jari ( gold & silver threads) & are dyed using Natutral dyes, it is recommended that the products be dry cleaned only.
