The Story Behind the Saree:

This saree is inspired by the striped quilt. These are a type of modern quilt art, made by Michael james, an american artist. James creates his striped yardage by sewing stripes of cotton and silk together in sets of gradated colours. The pieces for his quilt tops were cut from the striped panels, adding complexity to the repeat block patterns.
